It may be just a brief moment in time, but a lot can happen in a single minute.
From births and deaths, to thousands of hours of Netflix watched, a new video from ASAP Science reveals just how much takes place in a span of sixty seconds.
And, in some cases, the numbers are staggering – in just a minute, the average adult man will lose about 96 million cells from his body, and Earth will complete 1800 kilometers (1118 miles) of its journey around the sun.

On a more personal level, the video also points to the many processes that happen in the human body.
According to the video, the body produces about 120-180 million red blood cells in a minute.
While a person may lose 96 million cells in a minute, 96 million cells also divide during this time, replacing the ones that were lost.
And, fetuses develop neurons at a rate of 250,000 per minute, the video reveals.
In the US, 1.5 people will get divorced in that short time, while 116 will get married around the world.
Another 108 people will die during this time.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE INTERNET IN ANY GIVEN SECOND
Internet Live Stats created a live map that shows exactly how much activity is happening around the globe –down to the second.
About 6,000 to 7,000 tweets are shared every second which equals to more than 350,000 every minute, 500 million per day and around 200 billion tweets every year.
Every second 729 photos are uploaded to Instagram, 125,406 videos are viewed on YouTube and 2,177 calls are made via Skype.
