Lana Del Rey has declared herself the “best girlfriend” amid rumours of a romance with rapper G-Eazy.
The Video Games singer sparked romance rumours with G-Eazy, real name Gerald Gillum, this week (beg08May17) after they were spotted enjoying their third consecutive night out together after reportedly hooking up at Coachella music festival in April.
Prior to being linked to the rapper, the 31-year-old chatted to Elle UK about her love life, and declared she was currently single but went on to explain why she is the perfect partner when interviewed for the cover story of the latest issue.
“I actually am the best girlfriend because I only get into a relationship if I’m really excited about it. I’m unconditionally understanding, very loving and I like to be with that person for a lot of the time,” she stated.
Lana previously dated photographer Francesco Carrozzini until their split in 2015, former Kassidy rocker Barrie-James O’Neill from 2011 to 2014, as well as musician Steven Mertens and an unnamed record label executive.
The singer, who is gearing up to release her new album Lust for Life, has since come to the conclusion that her ideal partner isn’t the frontman of a band because they can be self-centred.
“For me, the dream is to have a little bit of edge, the sexiness, the magnetism, the camaraderie, be on the same page and all that stuff, but without the fallout that comes from a person who is really selfish and puts only their needs first, which is like a lot of frontmen if we’re talking about musicians!” she laughed.
“I’m going to write a book one day called, ‘The curse of the frontman and why you should always date a bassist’.”
During the interview, she also revealed a lot of her new material has been inspired by political events because she thought it would be weird to not write about how they made her feel.
